Tahoe Joe’s Famous Steakhouse

Tahoe Joe’s Famous Steakhouse, a popular upscale dining restaurant from the northern and central valleys of California and known for its scratch-made creations, steaks, chops, and seafood, has expanded south into San Bernardino County with its first new restaurant opening in three years. Moss Wong Associates rebranded and designed this first Southern California restaurant opening in Chino, unveiling a modern reinterpretation of the existing Tahoe Joe’s locations to showcase the evolution of the brand. The traditional use of wood, stone, weathered steel and lighting elements was reinvented to provide an upscaled and repurposed restaurant aesthetic. The restaurant’s focus is a full-height, dry stacked stone fireplace with an articulated steel and LED lit wall beyond, around which intimate private dining areas enveloped in blue spruce and live edge slabs graciously float. Ceilings of floating white drywall sit adjacent to planes of end cut logs and artfully folded wood planks. Even the birch trees and wall murals are Lake Tahoe inspired. The bar is generously served by a thick slab wood top and spills onto a dramatically engineered covered patio to seat an additional sixty guests. The patio glows at night with warm light from a double fire pit below to draw guests to the new restaurant.
